The Palakhi Sohala :
The Palakhi ceremony of Shantibrahma Shri Eknath Maharaj is the only major Palakhi (procession) from Marathwada to Pandharpur. The tradition of Wari has been going on in the family of Nath even before from Saint Bhanudas Maharaj, the grandfather of Nath. Bhanudas Maharaj says, “Amuchiye Kuli Pandharicha Nem | Mukhi Sada Naam Vitthalache |” Nath has continued this tradition and gave it a grand form and appealed people - Mazya Vadilanche Daivat| Krupalu Ha Pandharinath | Pandharisi Javu Chala | Bhetu Rakhumai Vitthala ||
After the Samadhi of Nath in 1599, his son Haripandit Maharaj has continued this grand tradition. He had started the tradition of carrying the Paduka of Shri Nath on his head for Ashadi Wari. Within a few years, the padukas were carried through the palakhi. The same tradition has been perpetuated by the next generation of Nath's descendants.
